Mickey was an open book. I don't think I can think of anything he didn't cover. Mickey is passionate about this field. Great format. I was pushed out of my comfort zone and would be happy to take more classes with Mickey.
This class was incredibly informative and valuable content with a great focus on the technical side.
What you'll learn
Being comfortable and relaxed when the camera is rolling is paramount.
Voice is one of the most important tools you can use to harness your energy.
Explore the different ways you can achieve a contrasting take that is right for the character, the project, and even the frame. You’ll work this week with a 1-2 page scene or 45 second monologue and use the text, circumstances and project information to differentiate the takes.
Break down the co-star, guest-star, and regular responsibilities. Students explore the nuances of analyzing episodic scripts during the audition stage. Practicing building consistency in character portrayals, and adapting to the faster pace of TV production while remaining calm and making choices that give the actor agency on set.
We will examine both supporting and leading roles and the differences between Big blockbuster studio films and shoestring indies.
Tackle the challenges of acting in HIGH STAKES, MONSTER, POSSESSION, EMOTIONAL 10/10 scenes, from drama to comedy to thriller. Portray heightened emotions and navigate high-stakes situations, while maintaining credibility and connecting with their audience.
