Pro Series with Actor John Pirrucello

Work with actor John Pirruccello in his one-day scene-study intensive. With work from Twin Peaks to BARRY, John is consistently working within different genres and is bringing his skills to Chicago. This intensive will focus on working within the scene with whatever your scene partner and director throw at you when you get to set. What can you find in the scene? What moments need more exploring? This intensive is all about collaboration and discovery, trusting your scene partners, and giving yourself the tools in rehearsal to succeed on set. This will be a safe environment to play, try new things and collaborate. A week before class begins, you will be given six options of scenes. You will then prepare a scene to play with in class and get up and work with other actors, all while being coached by John.

Who is John Pirruccello?

John works in film, television, theatre, stand-up, sketch comedy, and has been deeply involved in the improv community for decades. His roles include PI Nick Stavros in HBO's Phil Spector (2013); Deputy Chad Broxford in Showtime's Twin Peaks: The Return (2017); O'Grady in FX's Mayans MC (2019 and 2021); and as bitter divorcé police detective John Loach for two seasons on the HBO dark comedy Barry (2018 and 2019) as well as roles on Better Things (2019); Little Fires Everywhere (2020); Curb Your Enthusiasm (2021); and She Hulk (2022) He played Stegman in the Hulu original movie The Valet (2022).
