Commercial Acting is a Tier 2 course. Back by popular demand, Chandra is here to increase your confidence and comfort with commercials. Commercials are a unique challenge in the audition room, and Chandra can help you master the art of commercial copy, including interview style and MOS. ​Week One This week will consist of an introduction to commercial acting and auditioning. Students will then tackle MOS auditions, which are frequently mistakenly seen as easy, as there is no copy to memorize. Chandra will teach students how to emote in a relaxed, natural way, that helps encapsulates the brand’s needs. ​Week Two Delve deeper into on-camera acting with a focus on handling commercial copy in various scripted spots. Explore spokesperson, comedic, medical copy and more. ​Week Three Students will explore industrial auditions, where the audience, information delivery, and copy length differ from commercials. Master ear prompter and teleprompter techniques. ​Week Four Casting is often looking to find out more about you as a person. As these types of personality questions become common practice, Chandra will teach you how improv skills can help your auditions. In the final week, you will also tackle more scripted commercial copy. ​ Who is Chandra Michaels? Chandra is an award-winning actor and producer who has appeared on multiple Network television series including New Amsterdam (NBC), Julia (HBO), and Chicago Med (NBC). She has performed on some of The Second City's main improv stages, and booked numerous national commercials. As a member of the Television Academy of Arts & Sciences, she has an intimate understanding of the network television industry.
