It's an entirely different beast, and I'm here to help you learn how to tame it!" - Caito Aase Have you worked in theatre your whole life and want to know what it takes to transition into the world of film? Veteran theatre kid and multi-hyphenated performer, Caito Aase, has got you covered. Here's what you'll learn: Week 1 - Introductions Come in with a piece from either theatre or film that helps us get to know you! Week 2 - Working Onset 101 We'll cover all the important lingo, talk about what to expect when you get to set, and how preparing for a day in film differs from a day in rehearsal. You'll be assigned pieces for the following weeks. Week 3 - Acting for Camera Time to get in front of the camera! This week is all about honing your tremendous theatrical instincts for the "audience" on the other side of the screen. Week 4 - Type What is your "type"? Your on-camera energy in unique in every way. You'll learn how to market yourself for the roles that you want, audition with purpose, and once you've booked--maintain that energy during every take. Week 5 - Everything we've discussed comes together this week in our final day of workshopping your material. Week 6 - Q&A What do you still want to know about the industry? Where should you go from here? We'll wrap up the last five classes with a Q&A session and a celebration of all the work you've accomplished. Who is Caito Aase? Caito is a jack of all trades. A Chicago-based actor with a robust background in theatre, their expertise ranges from burlesque dancing to serving as the Head of the Hair Department at FUBP, to their impressive career on the indie film circuit. A film actor since 2016, notable titles include Angie in REVEALER, CJ Mueller in BLACK MOLD, Nikki in 2 IN THE BUSH, and Lola in CHRISTMAS IS CANCELED. Caito holds a degree in Theatre Arts (special focus in Shakespeare) and French from Drew University.
