Work with CSA Casting Director Sarah Cayce in this four-week course that focuses on virtual callbacks. Because virtual callbacks are here to stay, perfecting your virtual callback is a necessity. Each week, Sarah will work with students on a new script from commercials, television, and film to throw every wrench possible into the works. Virtual callbacks aren't going anywhere, so make sure you're ready for your next one by working with one of Chicago's best on-camera acting teachers. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN • Week One: You'll receive commercial copy shortly before the start of class, and run a nearly-cold audition and interview with Sarah in week one. This week kicks you into the deep end with a brutal interview and tough commercial coffee. Initiation by fire 🔥 • Week Two: Send in a virtual audition per Sarah's request, and receive feedback on your technical aspects in the room before receiving notes and re-reading the take. This week will focus on the technical aspects of virtual auditioning, dos and don'ts, and what casting is looking for from self-tapes. • Week Three: This week focuses on the space available to you and how to use your frame to your advantage. This week will push you to move within the frame while sticking to the rules learned in weeks one and two. • Week Four: Callback meets coldread in week four, where each student will be given a new role from the same film to cold read in a virtual setting. We'll focus on tech, using the frame to your advantage, and strong choices in the "room" Who is Sarah Cayce? Sarah Cayce is an award-winning director, Emmy-nominated producer, screenwriter, and casting director. Her second feature film, OXY MORONS comes out June 2025, and Cayce's debut feature film, HAPPILY NEVER AFTER can be seen on Lifetime Movie Network. Sarah’s been producing since 2010 for narrative, feature-length documentaries, dozens of commercials, documentary content for Bleacher Report (which sent her to the Rio Olympics), and for select narrative projects. When Sarah isn’t teaching, directing, or writing, she can be found running her casting office, Compass Casting. Having cast for filmmakers like Terrence Malick and John Wells, Cayce always keeps time for indies between commercial clients like Ford, AT&T, the NFL, and dozens more.
